Jacob Lai Memorial Fund
In loving memory of Jacob, we have established the Jacob Lai Memorial Fund at the San Francisco Foundation, a Bay Area community foundation promoting equity and inclusion in the region. The purpose of this fund is to honor Jacob's life and to carry forward the love and happiness he brought into our world each day. This fund supports causes that improve the lives of young children and their families, support those impacted by Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood and other medical crises, and foster connection and community among young people. Each contribution will help honor Jacob's memory and continue his legacy of bringing joy and hope to others.

How to direct your gift to the fund:
- Click the button above to go to SFF's Give page
- Choose or enter a donation amount.
- Open the "Select Impact Area" dropdown and choose "Jacob Lai Memorial Fund" from the list.
- Complete the payment information to finish the donation.
Matching your gift
Many employers will match charitable donations. The San Francisco Foundation makes it easy to check your employer's matching gift program directly on their giving page.
To see if your employer matches:
- On the San Francisco Foundation giving page, scroll down and click "Matching Gifts" to expand the section.
- Enter your employer's name in the "Search for company..." box and click "Let's Check".
- Follow the instructions provided to submit your matching gift request, making sure to leave a note that the match should go to "Jacob Lai Memorial Fund".
Donating through Benevity?
We also have a project set up through SFF's Benevity page, so if your employer uses Benevity for workplace giving, you may be able to donate and have your gift matched automatically. Search for "Jacob Lai Memorial Fund" or "The San Francisco Foundation" in your company's Benevity portal.

2025 Holiday Wish Drive
In loving memory of Jacob, we organized a 2025 Holiday Wish Drive in partnership with Family Giving Tree. From December 1, 2025, to January 15, 2026, our community came together to fulfill holiday wishes for children and families in need throughout the Bay Area.
With overwhelming community support, we were able to provide 184 gifts, greatly exceeding our initial goal of 100 and reaching a donation total of $5,888.13. Each gift represented a child's wish fulfilled and a family's holiday made brighter and honored Jacob's spirit of bringing joy to others. From toys and books to warm clothing and essential items, every contribution made a meaningful difference.
In addition, our community also contributed $3,893 in direct donations to Family Giving Tree.
